Lee Foster

Lee Foster is the founder of Aspect Labs, a threat intel shop focused on investigating threat actor abuse of AI systems. A recognized expert in the field of cyber-enabled influence operations, he previously founded and led the Information Operations intelligence team at Mandiant, the team dedicated to tracking and exposing state-backed influence operations and disinformation campaigns. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) within its Alperovitch Institute for Cybersecurity Studies, where he teaches courses on applied machine learning for threat intelligence analysis and conducting threat intelligence investigations. Lee has extensive experience in CTI, has advised numerous government and corporate entities on cyber (and other) threats around the world, and has been a frequent contributor to national and international media reporting on the subject. Maintaining a particular passion for advancing analytic tradecraft and integrating state-of-the-art data analytics practices with traditional intelligence investigations and analysis, he holds an MA in Intelligence and International Security, an MA in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and quantitative methods, and an MS in Data Analytics with a focus on computational data analytics.
